Lumberjack Day
For those of you who enjoy working outdoors and are willing to spend a day serving the Lord at Riverside cutting and stacking firewood, please join us for a Saturday of service! Your hard work will help keep camp warm and cozy this winter.
You might not know it, but Riverside relies on a large and ready supply of firewood for the duration of the winter. A woodburning furnace provides heat to the Retreat Center and helps keep our heating costs down to a fraction of the price of gas. Lumberjack Day helps ensure that we are prepped and ready for those cold Wisconsin winters while helping us keep our operating costs low. With the completion of Zarephath, a second woodburning furnace will be in use this winter, which makes this event, and your involvement, even more critical! It is a wonderful opportunity to serve with friends and family while enjoying God's colorful creation at Riverside in the fall.
Lumberjack Day begins at 9am and runs until 4pm, with lunch provided to all volunteers at noon.
Don't forget your work gloves and your axes, mauls, or chain saws. If you have additional equipment that you could bring with you, please contact the camp office at 715.824.3198.
